Newlyweds

If you'd like your wedding to be featured on Bridal Musings that's wonderful!

Please ask your photographer or videographer to submit directly, following the guidelines below.

Be sure to provide them with a list of all the vendors who helped make your wedding so special and a paragraph or two about your day sharing any DIY details, special moments, unique touches and why you'd like to be featured on Bridal Musings.

Having your photographer or videographer submit ensures we have the correct copyright requirements to feature your beautiful day and the professionals can deal with all the technical stuff such as resizing photos.

If your wedding is a good fit for Bridal Musings, we'll let you and your photographer or videographer know within 10 working days.

Please note, we see the beauty and unique, special touches in every real wedding submission but sadly we're unable to feature them all on Bridal Musings.

Photographers

Bridal Musings is known for featuring high-quality photography in a wide range of styles from reportage to fine art. Although we have a particular penchant for timeless, natural light, editorial and film photography.

Please note that we don't feature highly-edited photos or lots of flash photography, over or under-exposed photos, or submissions made up of predominantly black and white photos (a couple of black and white photos is fine).

Bridal Musings features the following types of photo submissions:

  • Real weddings
  • Styled photoshoots
  • DIY tutorials

We pride ourselves on being an inclusive wedding blog and are actively looking to feature all kinds of weddings and wedding inspiration from a variety of cultures, faiths and countries, as well as couples of all races, shapes, sizes and sexual orientation.

Before submitting a real wedding, styled engagement shoot, or proposal, please check with the couple that they are happy to be featured.

How To Submit

The easiest way to submit is to share a link to your blog post of the wedding or shoot to info@bridalmusings.com or using the form posted below.

Alternatively please send your submission via a file-sharing site such as a link to your Dropbox folder or We Transfer to info@bridalmusings.com.

Here's what to include in your submission:

  • 100 non-watermarked images that reflect the wedding or shoot you would like to feature
  • Images at 1900 pixels wide (both horizontal and vertical images at that width)
  • A few sentences on any chic or creative aspects of the wedding or shoot
  • A vendor list including each vendor's website url and @instagramhandle
  • Optional & added bonus: a paragraph or two from the couple about their wedding.

As a general guide, our readers love detail shots to inspire their own weddings – think hairstyles, bouquets, favors, decor, centerpieces etc. They also appreciate full-length shots of dresses and suits, group shots of bridesmaids/groomsmen and romantic portraits of couples in love. As well as shots of any unique or personal touches.

Here are a few more tips for the type of images we like to feature.

Videographers & Filmmakers

We love wedding cinematography and have created a special area on Bridal Musings dedicated to wedding films – The Film Gallery.

The key things we look out for when reviewing a film submission are:

  • Beautiful, thoughtful or creative storytelling
  • A stylish, unique or utterly beautiful wedding
  • Footage of wedding details to inspire our readers
  • Under 10 minutes long

If you have a film that ticks all those boxes, please email a link to the wedding film, highlight or save the date you'd like to submit (on your blog or Vimeo) to info@bridalmusings.com and include any vendor details associated with the wedding and shoot.

Please also include a couple of photos or stills from the day at 1140 pixels wide to use as a featured image – and photography credits if needed.

We also feature DIY tutorials and other wedding related films.

*Please note we are currently only accepting a limited number of films as we are in the middle of revamping the way we feature them.*

Exclusivity

We prefer to feature submissions that haven't been featured on other wedding blogs – this is so we can ensure the content on Bridal Musings is fresh and inspiring for our readers. However, we don't mind if a submission has been featured in a magazine.

Once a wedding, photoshoot or film has been featured on Bridal Musings, you are free to submit elsewhere. Although we kindly ask that you and the vendors involved wait 30 days after the publish date before submitting to another wedding blog or publication.

Response Time

We do our very best to respond to submission emails promptly (whether the submission is a good fit for Bridal Musings or not). However, due to the high number of emails and submissions we receive, sometimes emails can slip through the net. If you haven't heard back from us within 10 working days, please feel free to chase us up or submit elsewhere.

While we value and appreciate all the hard work, talent and artistry that goes into creating and documenting a real wedding or styled shoot, we are only able to accept weddings or shoots that we think will be a good fit for our readers and align with our blog's aesthetic.

If your submission is accepted you'll receive a confirmation email and, if you have provided everything necessary for the feature, your feature will be scheduled into the Bridal Musings editorial calendar and you'll be given a publication date.

Publication Time

We only schedule weddings and shoots once we receive everything needed for the feature (ie. photos correctly sized, full vendor credits). Then there is usually a 4-8 week wait before the feature or shoot goes live.

Social Media Promotion

We will promote your feature across our social media networks where we have 3.4 million followers collectively.

We will credit all vendors (that are included in the submission info) on Facebook and Instagram. However, we will simply credit the photographer on images shared to Pinterest. Images pinned from Bridal Musings link directly to the original post where followers can find the full credit list.

It's always so helpful to help spread the word when photographers, filmmakers, vendors and couples share links to the feature on Bridal Musings to their own social networks too or like, heart, re-share etc. Tag us (we're @bridalmusings across all networks) and we'll like & re-share where possible too.
